When we spend time quietly in the forest - listening to the birds, looking at trees and stones, or just sitting under an old tree or by a crystal clear stream - it is easier to surrender to the moment and to resonate with the life within and around us.

Shinrin-Yoku (森林浴) is a practice originated in Japan that describes a guided immersion and absorption of the forest atmosphere with all its scents and sounds, structural variety, shapes and colours. It is about the proven healing effects of immersing oneself in the natural environment through simple exercises and mindfully using all five senses - mindful, grounded, rooted in presence!

The calm of the forest quiets the mind

During therpeutic forest bathing, you go on a decelerated hike, during which you can use the forest as a space for creative, mindfulness-strengthening, meditative exercises and perfectly recharge your batteries. I invite you to leave your everyday life behind, familiarise yourself with the forest, arrive and gradually open your senses. The silence and the overall slowing down make it possible for you to increasingly let your attention linger in the moment.

We begin as a group, from where you are encouraged by gentle invitation to spread out and explore the forest in your own personal way. You are at once part of a group, by yourself and part of nature, and it is here that forest bathing derives much of its therapeutic power.

The walk itself has a modest range but takes on a serene, harmonious quality. You are never far from the group and are free to rejoin it at any time, but you also have the space to direct your attention to your own feelings and needs. What you might choose to share of your experience or not is given enough space to be seen and heard.

Depending on the season, the weather and the wishes, the therapeutic forest baths usually last about 3 hours.

In a small group, we go on a quiet exploration tour. We take time to observe, feel, smell, hear and marvel. With various mindfulness exercises and creative, playful elements, we will clear our heads and relax. We feel the connection to nature and thereby also to ourselves. 

We recharge our batteries, get out of our heads, immerse ourselves in the lush greenery and forest flavours and feel the soft forest floor beneath our feet.
